Our club recently hosted its fifth Carving workshop a couple of weeks ago.
Internationally known sculptor Silvio Apponyi came and shared his carving knowledge with eight of us for two days.
Each of us worked on a project of their own. In the lead up to the weekend, Silvio offered to confer with any of us who wished to discuss their ideas with him and give him time to plan how he could best help us as individual artists. Many also took advantage of Silvio’s offer of wood suitable to the project they had in mind.
It was a great success with all of the participants, expressing their extreme satisfaction with what Silvio was able to teach them. We all came away feeling we had taken a big step on our carving journey.
